New data, icons, and locations

A new batch of updates are up on cumul.us:

  • AccuWeather has been added as a data source, and it’s international! It will eventually get integrated into the prediction scoring, but its forecasts need to get a bit more standardized (they seem to like to write very eloquent forecasts that don’t match how other sources describe the weather… you might see some in your area.)
  • Clothing submissions are now being represented as icons instead of text, as we feel it makes it a lot easier to scan for what people are wearing than the text did, since people usually wear several clothing items. (Let us know here or in the comments what you think.)
  • We’ve also upgraded the system that guesses where you are if you don’t have your location set in your preferences. It should be much improved, but let us know if it still has trouble finding you. (If you leave a note, please tell us anything else you can about where you are accessing the site from: home or work, city, country, internet provider, IP address, your dog’s name, etc.)

And more new stuff is coming! Anything in particular you’d like to see? Drop a note in the comments or the feedback form.
